Our ambassador for Heart for Horeca is Tim Boury, chef of the two-star restaurant Boury in Roeselare.

As a caterer I, along with my fellow restaurant owners, bartenders, and hotel owners, know how much the Corona virus affects our society.

This affects not only people’s health and social life, but also the figures and accounts of our catering companies.

In normal times it is not always easy to get everything nicely done, but now with the Corona crisis, it is the companies with a limited financial buffer and high fixed costs that can quickly find themselves in financial difficulties.

"That is why the foundation "Heart for Horeca" pays special attention to young start-ups in the catering industry. Their intention is to raise funds to financially support our own favourite restaurants, cafes, or hotels." 

Although we do not currently know how long and how hard Covid-19 will strike, it is already clear today that, despite the drastic measures taken by our governments, many of our promising hospitality businesses will have to close too soon.

This is not due to a lack of quality, but to unforeseen circumstances. That would be a great pity, because now, since everyone is obligated to stay at home, it has become clear that the catering industry is the glue of our social life.

Once the Covid-19 crisis is over, it would be a real shame if we couldn’t all pick up right back where we left off.
